Dock Levelers
Dock leveler is loading and unloading equipment. It is situated at the loading bay of a factory where the material is to be loaded and unloaded. The capacity of the dock leveler ranges from minimum to 9000 kgs. Material to be loaded is lifted by a fork lift or a stacker and is carried in to the container or vehicle directly. The dock of the leveler adjusts its height according to the height of the truck which eases the rolling of the forklift over it with load.
A dock leveler is a piece of equipment used in material handling and logistics to bridge the gap between a loading dock and a truck or trailer. Its primary function is to create a smooth and safe transition for the movement of goods and materials between the loading dock and the vehicle, ensuring efficient and secure loading and unloading operations. Dock levelers are commonly used in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and other commercial and industrial settings.
Key features and components of a typical dock leveler which ROBOTIC EQUIPMENTS: manufacture and supply include.
- Platform : The main surface that bridges the gap between the dock and the truck. It's usually made of steel and is strong enough to support heavy loads.
- Lip : A hinged or telescoping plate at the front of the platform that extends out and rests on the truck bed. This helps create a smooth transition for forklifts and other equipment as they move in and out of the truck.
- Hydraulic System : Most dock levelers are operated hydraulically. This system controls the raising and lowering of the platform and lip. It allows for precise positioning and smooth operation.
- Control Panel : A control panel located near the loading dock area that allows operators to control the dock leveler's movements. It often includes buttons or switches for raising, lowering, and storing the leveler.
- Safety Features : Dock levelers typically come with safety features to prevent accidents. These can include safety barriers, edge sensors, and warning lights to indicate when the leveler is in use.
- Pit or Surface - Mounted : Dock levelers can be installed in a pit, flush with the dock floor, or surface-mounted on top of the dock.
- Capacity : Our Dock levelers come in various weight capacities to accommodate different types of loads and trucks.
